A manual transmission-equipped GT test vehicle completed a 6.7-second run to 60 mph at our testing facility, shy of the record set by those two legendary cars. The Forte provides a smooth and comfortable ride, but its handling isn’t as dynamic as its Stinger-inspired appearance might imply, even in the sportier GT version. In fact, when we drove the Forte against the Civic Si and Jetta GLI in a recent comparison test, we found ourselves working harder to keep up with the pack in the Forte.

Maintain your vehicle’s fuel economy and real-world MPG

The Forte, particularly those with the less powerful engine and automatic gearbox, will drive past gas stations without reaching a full tank. This is where the Forte shines, with a highway efficiency of 40 mpg and a combined fuel economy of 33 mpg. The combined fuel economy of the GT with the dual-clutch gearbox drops to 30 mpg. The Forte’s fuel efficiency is 41 mpg in our 200-mile highway driving test, which is a smidge better than the EPA estimate.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

With its minimalist style and high-quality and luxury materials, the inside of this automobile won us over. The Forte can accommodate two adults in the back seat and lengthy road excursions without complaint. The base model has all of the essential features, but as you go up through the various models, they become more pleasant. Dual-zone climate control is offered as an option, as are heated and ventilated seats in the front. With all of the seats in position, the Forte accommodated seven carry-on bags, one more than both of its main rivals, the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic.
